Breeder VS Pet shop
If you have decided that you are going to buy a puppy or the time is right to replace a loved one.
Where should you buy your next best friend who will live with you 13-18 years or even more from
now ? How old will you be ? Let me tell you my story. I bought a Chihuahua at the mall. A
beautiful pet for my wife and son who was 3 years old. They had to have this perfect little
Chihuahua. They never saw such a beautiful Chihuahua. Well, I  brought her home after sevel
days of badgering and tears. We named her Coco, played and fell in love with her. The same
night she began to cough and sniffle. I went to the pet shop the next day and they said "it was the
common Chihuahua cold." The girl at the counter told me even her Chihuahua gets one now and
then. At  11:30 the second night we all had to take her to the Animal Emergency Room. She was
getting weaker and weaker she was fighting for her life. The Doctor told us our little Chihuahua
had a upper respiratory infection and kennel cough. The Doctor said lucky you got her in so
quickly. I was told she needed 24 hour care and it would cost about 800.00 if I left her there. She
would have to stay at the hospital about three days. Being in-between jobs I took her home gave
her the medication and used an aspirator to remove the mucus from her nose constantly during
the night. Both my wife and I fought for our Chihuahuas life day and night. For about a week of
shift sleeping we fought and won. We got our little girl healthy and vowed to never buy from a
mall again. Pet stores support puppy mills by purchasing animals in bulk to insure a continuing
supply. They all are expensive up front $1200.00 or more. They even tack on extra cost for the
mortality rate failure during transportation to the mall. Before you know it, a purebred puppy you
could have purchase from a legitimate breeder for $600-$1200, winds up costing you
$1800-$2700 from  a pet shop after medical bills!

WARNING: Many pet shop puppies come with kennel cough and other health problems that
can show themselves weeks after you bring the puppy home. This is the result of crowded and
unsanitary conditions existing at the puppy mills and transporting them to the pet store. Pet
stores go out of their way to show you how clean and well kept the puppies are but you are being
deceived. The damage to your puppies health was done at the puppy mills and during
transportation. Just look how many different breeds of puppies they sell.in one store from all
over the USA. Why take a chance and buy the smallest breed they have ? Will you fall in love
with a unhealthy Chihuahua ? No one can predict what health problems may develop with selling
live animals. Buy from a  Legitimate Breeder who will guarantee and stand by their puppies as I
do. Don't buy from a pet store because they look so sad, they are being picked on by other
puppies or you feel sorry for them.
